About the Role
An established and growing construction and infrastructure contractor is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team. This is a key role focused on managing project costs, minimising risk, and maximising value for money, while ensuring high standards of quality and building strong client relationships. The successful candidate will support both live project delivery and pre-construction planning, playing a vital part in the commercial success of projects.
Key Responsibilities
The role involves preparing and managing tenders, valuations, and applications for payment, as well as reviewing and negotiating contract terms with clients and subcontractors. The Quantity Surveyor will monitor and forecast project cash flow, manage procurement and subcontractor payments, and handle variations efficiently. They will also identify commercial risks and opportunities, provide accurate financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle, attend project meetings, oversee final account settlements, support teams with commercial guidance, and ensure compliance with contract terms and industry regulations.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone with a strong understanding of the UK construction industry and solid experience in commercial and contractual management. The ideal candidate will be financially astute, a confident negotiator, and a clear communicator, able to work independently as well as part of a wider project team. A good knowledge of CDM regulations, RAMS, and health and safety standards is essential, along with excellent organisational skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
