Job Description
Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a solid background in the housebuilding sector? We are working on behalf of our client to recruit a skilled QS to manage the commercial oversight of multiple developments across the region. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a reputable and growing residential construction business at an exciting time in its expansion.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing build and infrastructure costs, managing subcontractor payments, monitoring site valuations, and ensuring budgets are adhered to across several housing developments. Working closely with the wider commercial and site teams, you will play a key role in driving efficiency and ensuring best value procurement and spend.
Key Responsibilities

Full commercial management of designated residential developments
*
Ensure accurate site development budgets are in place and adhered to
*
Procure and manage subcontractor packages in line with internal policies
*
Monitor and control cash flows, cost variations, and site expenditure
*
Liaise with Site Managers and Contracts Managers to provide cost advice and guidance
*
Produce monthly site valuations and commercial reports
*
Mentor and support Assistant Quantity Surveyors
*
Ensure compliance with health and safety and environmental regulations
What We’re Looking For
*
Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally within the housebuilding industry
*
Strong commercial and technical knowledge of residential construction
*
Good working knowledge of commercial and financial systems (e.g. COINS, Excel)
*
Confident in procurement, tendering, and subcontractor negotiations
*
A collaborative communicator, able to engage effectively across departments and with external partners
*
Resilient, proactive, and commercially astute
*
A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or equivalent industry experience
