Job Description
Looking for your next challenge in the Defence sector? Vertical Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a leading UK consultancy at the forefront of cost and commercial strategy in the infrastructure space. Their Warrington-based team is expanding, and they’re now seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to support a series of high-profile Defence estate projects.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work within a technically complex environment, delivering tangible impact on critical national assets. You’ll join a growing commercial advisory function, working side-by-side with major clients, prime contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
What You’ll Be Doing
•Supporting the commercial management of defence estate projects from early stage through to contract award
•Leading on procurement, tendering, and contract setup (NEC3/NEC4 focus)
•Interpreting and advising on contract compliance and commercial risks
•Working closely with clients and delivery teams to ensure robust cost control
•Preparing cost plans, cashflows, valuations, and reporting for both internal and external stakeholders
•Contributing to continuous improvement within a collaborative project environment
What We’re Looking For
•Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar (Commercial Management, Construction Economics, etc.)
•Experience in a consultancy or client-side environment
•Background in defence, nuclear, utilities or similarly regulated sectors
•Strong grasp of NEC contracts (option C & E desirable)
•A confident communicator, comfortable in client-facing settings
•Enthusiastic about career development – whether you’re working toward chartership or already chartered (MRICS, MCIOB etc.)
