About Our Client
Our client is a dynamic and fast-growing construction company operating across the South of England, offering a full range of high-quality services to both the public and private sectors. They have built a reputation for excellence in project management, general construction, and maintenance services, with specialist expertise in security-controlled environments such as HM Prisons, Hospitals, and Educational Facilities.
Due to continued growth and project success, they are now seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert contractual and commercial advice to project teams and senior management
* Lead day-to-day commercial and contract management across multiple projects
* Manage communications, notifications, payments, early warnings, and claims
* Develop and maintain cost plans, estimates, and budget forecasts
* Conduct commercial risk assessments and identify opportunities for value engineering
* Oversee cost and contract audits to ensure contractor compliance
* Manage your own portfolio of works, attending project and planning meetings
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and the supply chain
* Mentor and support junior commercial staff, graduates, and apprentices
* Review design documentation for commercial and contractual alignment
* Assist other departments as needed and ensure cross-functional collaboration
Required Skills & Qualifications
* 5+ years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role (construction sector)
* Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT forms of contract
* BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying, Commercial or Construction Management (or working towards)
* Working towards RICS or CIOB chartership (preferred)
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong IT proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite
* Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and work well under pressure
* Hold a valid CSCS card and UK Driving Licence
* Willingness to travel (around 25% of time, preferred)
* Must have UK work authorisation
Salary & Benefits
Permanent: Up to £60,000 per year
