Job Description
A highly regarded, award-winning regional housebuilder is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team, supporting the delivery of high-quality residential developments across Yorkshire.
With a strong pipeline of ongoing and upcoming sites for 2026 and beyond, this is a key role offering genuine scope for long-term career development within a stable and well-established business.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Commercial team, the Quantity Surveyor will take responsibility for the commercial management of multiple new build housing developments, from procurement through to final account.
The role will involve a combination of office-based responsibilities and regular site visits across Yorkshire. You will work closely with the wider commercial, construction, and technical teams to ensure the successful financial delivery of each project.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation and ongoing management of cost plans and project budgets
Procurement and administration of subcontractor and supplier packages
Monthly valuations, interim payments, and final accounts
Preparation of cost value reconciliations (CVRs) and commercial reports
Identification and management of risk and opportunity throughout project lifecycle
Monitoring variations, change control, and commercial implications on programme
Working collaboratively with site teams and supply chain partners
Ensuring all commercial activities align with company procedures and targets
Requirements
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within residential housebuilding or a main contractor
Sound understanding of construction contracts, procurement routes, and cost control
Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial software (experience with COINS advantageous)
HNC/HND or degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the region
