Job Description
We are working with a well-established contractor specialising in roofing and external refurbishment works across residential, commercial, and public sector projects. Due to a strong pipeline of work, they are looking to bring on an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in roofing to oversee the financial and contractual aspects of their ongoing and upcoming projects.
Role Summary:
The successful candidate will manage all commercial functions relating to roofing projects, from tender through to final account. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the works are delivered within budget, while managing subcontractor packages, valuations, cost reporting, and client liaison.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage the full commercial lifecycle of roofing projects (flat, pitched, and specialist systems).
*
Prepare, submit, and negotiate interim valuations and final accounts.
*
Procure and manage subcontractor packages, including issuing orders and assessing variations.
*
Provide accurate cost reporting, forecasts, and cash flow analysis.
*
Liaise with clients, site teams, and project managers to ensure cost efficiency and project control.
*
Identify and mitigate commercial risks.
*
Ensure compliance with contract terms and company policies.
Requirements:
*
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the roofing or external works sector is essential.
*
Strong understanding of construction contracts (JCT/NEC).
*
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
*
Excellent negotiation, reporting, and communication skills.
*
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and commercial software (e.g., COINS, Causeway, etc., if applicable).
*
Relevant qualification (HNC/HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management).
