Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major £40m construction scheme in Bristol. The project is a significant RC frame development, comprising apartment blocks and commercial units, and will require a commercially strong individual to take the lead.
This is a stand-alone role, offering an exciting opportunity for a skilled QS to take ownership of the commercial function on a high-value, complex build. You will be joining a forward-thinking, well-established contractor with a strong pipeline of work across the region.
The Role:
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the full commercial management of the project. Your duties will include:
*
Taking a lead role in procurement of subcontract packages, managing negotiations and contract awards.
*
Preparing and managing cash flow forecasts and project budgets.
*
Preparing, reviewing, and agreeing monthly applications for payment.
*
Managing and monitoring subcontract accounts, variations, and final accounts.
*
Ensuring accurate cost reporting and delivering commercial strategies in line with project objectives.
*
Working closely with the site and project teams, design managers, and external stakeholders to ensure financial targets and contractual obligations are achieved.
*
Providing commercial insight, risk management, and advice to senior management throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
*
Proven track record as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on large-scale RC frame or mixed-use residential and commercial developments.
*
Strong knowledge of NEC/JCT contracts.
*
Experience running projects of £20m+ in value as a stand-alone QS.
*
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
*
Highly organised, with the ability to work independently and proactively.
*
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred).
