Volantes Renewables Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading organisation delivering major infrastructure and energy projects across the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a collaborative commercial team, supporting the successful delivery of critical projects while contributing to commercial performance, profitability and long-term business growth.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll work closely with Commercial Managers and operational teams, providing commercial support throughout the project lifecycle while helping to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, profitably and in line with contractual requirements.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will support the commercial function across a portfolio of projects, assisting with cost control, forecasting, subcontract management and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  * Support the commercial team in ensuring project profitability, cash flow and cost control.

  * Assist with applications for payment and credit control processes.

  * Prepare and review income forecasts and pricing of project variations.

  * Support the administration of change control procedures.

  * Assist in identifying and managing commercial and project risks.

  * Contribute to the production of Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).

  * Support cost-to-complete (CTC) reporting and forecasting.

  * Upload and maintain commercial documentation in accordance with business procedures.

  * Review weekly site records, allocation sheets and site diaries.

  * Attend project progress meetings.

  * Assist in producing monthly financial performance reports.

  * Gain wider business knowledge by working alongside operational and project delivery teams.

Additional Responsibilities

  * Ensure commercial policies and procedures are followed in accordance with current legislation.

  * Support the achievement of commercial KPIs and business objectives.

  * Work collaboratively with commercial and operational teams to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

  * Promote best practice and collaborative working across projects.

  * Support lean initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

  * Encourage effective planning and communication between commercial and delivery teams.

About You

We're looking for a commercially minded individual who is organised, analytical and eager to build a successful career within the construction and infrastructure sectors.

Essential Requirements

  * Degree, HND or HNC qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

  * Working towards a recognised professional qualification (such as RICS or equivalent).

  * Relevant post-graduate or industry experience within a Quantity Surveying role.

  * Good understanding of construction contracts and contractual procedures.

  * Knowledge of commercial reporting, forecasting and cost management.

  * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  * Excellent communication and organisational abilities.

  * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  * Full UK Driving Licence.
