Job Description
Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor
An established and fast-growing commercial fit-out contractor based in the Newry area is seeking a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its dynamic team. With multiple fast-track projects typically valued up to £5 million, this role offers a fantastic opportunity for a commercially focused QS/SQS to take ownership of high-spec, deadline-driven fit-out schemes across the region.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the full commercial lifecycle of multiple concurrent projects, from initial cost planning to final account, ensuring financial accuracy and contractual compliance in a fast-paced delivery environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparation, monitoring, and control of budgets, cost estimates, and final accounts.
* Subcontractor and material procurement, negotiation of best-value commercial deals.
* Preparation of cost value reconciliations (CVRs), cash flow forecasts, and cost reporting.
* Administration of subcontractor contracts, valuations, variations, and claims.
* Commercial management of multiple simultaneous fit-out projects with fast-track schedules.
* Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure collaborative project delivery.
* Drive efficiencies and savings while maintaining project quality and client satisfaction.
* Provide support and guidance to junior team members where required.
Requirements:
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
* Proven experience working on commercial fit-out or refurbishment projects.
* Background in a main contractor or specialist fit-out environment preferred.
* Excellent understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes.
* Proficient in cost reporting and project management software.
* Strong negotiation, analytical, and organisational skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects autonomously.
