Job Description

We supply and manage fleets of industrial traction batteries (forklift, electric vehicles etc.) and chargers that support the materials handling supply chain requirements of a broad range of clients operating in logistics, distribution and retail industries. We also specialise in the procurement, installation, maintenance and testing of industrial batteries, stand-by batteries, UPS systems and chargers supporting critical power systems in any industrial or commercial environment, onshore and offshore. We deliver quality products and services on time and to budget achieved through our concept to close out project management. We are independently owned and managed group of companies with over 25 years industry experience operating internationally, throughout the United Kingdom, Europe and the Middle East, with our headquarters based in Aberdeen, Scotland. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about developing new products and willing to manage a small team of dedicated engineers. The role will involve managing the development of power electronics products and the build of bespoke UPS and changer systems. Roles & Responsibilities The main duties and responsibilities will include following activities: Management of the R&D and Project departments. Defining the long term strategy for the R&D department. Resourcing the R&D and Project departments. Controlling the R&D budget. Ensure that projects are carried out efficiently and in accordance to the procedures. Report monthly to the directors on the projects department. Ensuring safety regulations are met. Ensuring that QA procedures are followed. Contribute to the companies HSE and QA systems. Provide Technical support and guidance to both departments. Provide Technical support to the service department. Skills & Qualifications The post holder should ideally be a chartered electrical / electronic engineer or a qualification in management and engineering. Experience in running a development team in power electronics. Attributes & Personal Qualities The post holder should possess the following attributes: Enthusiastic about product development; Excellent communication skills at all levels; Good team player. Location The post holder's main place of employment will be at Head Office based in Dyce, but may be required to work at other locations from time to time. Working Hours The standard hours of work are 8 hours per day Monday - Friday. Daily start and finish times are flexible and can be mutually agreed if required on a weekly/monthly basis
