Raw Materials Technologist

Raw Materials Technologist Key Responsibilities:
* Evaluate potential and existing suppliers to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and legal standards
* Conduct supplier visits and audits
* Maintain raw material specifications, including measurable tolerances
* Monitor supplier performance using KPIs and use insights to drive continuous improvement
* Support Commercial and NPD teams in approving new raw materials for site use
* Train and manage the intake team to ensure effective quality checks are carried out
* Ensure all supplier non-conformances are recorded and followed up with timely corrective actions
* Act as the lead contact for investigating and resolving raw material non-conformities
* Maintain seasonality calendars to identify and mitigate supply risks
* Manage vulnerability assessments, highlighting and addressing supply chain risks
* Support the Customer Support team by building specifications and responding to raw material queries
* Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to raw material quality
* Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships
Raw Materials Technologist Requirements:
* Internal Auditing Qualification
* VACCP/TACCP training
* Desirable: Degree in Food Science, Agronomy, or related discipline
* Strong facilitation and negotiation skills
* Food Safety Level 3
* Commercial awareness
* Minimum of 1 year experience in food manufacturing
