About the Role:
An inclusive and forward-thinking secondary school in Aylesbury is looking for a passionate and dynamic Religious Studies Teacher to join their Humanities department from January 2026. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching RS across Key Stages 3 and 4, sparking curiosity in students and encouraging them to explore diverse worldviews, ethics, and belief systems. Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver stimulating Religious Studies lessons across KS3 and KS4.
Guide students in their preparation for GCSE Religious Studies exams, providing targeted support to enhance their success.
Encourage debate, reflection, and inquiry on moral, cultural, and ethical issues, helping students develop a deeper understanding of world religions.
Collaborate with the Humanities department to develop the curriculum and contribute to cross-curricular projects.
Track and assess student progress, offering constructive feedback and implementing strategies for improvement.
Cultivate a positive classroom environment that fosters respect and inclusivity.
Requirements:
QTS with a specialism or substantial experience in Religious Studies or Humanities.
Strong subject knowledge with the ability to inspire curiosity and deepen students' understanding.
Effective classroom management skills and a commitment to inclusive teaching practices.
A passion for supporting the school’s ethos of respect, diversity, and tolerance.
