Job Description
Reactive Maintenance Engineer
Industry: Rail
Contract Type: 6 – 12 months
Rate: £26-£32 per hour, depending on experience - Umbrella or PAYE available
We are seeking a skilled Reactive Maintenance Engineer specialised in electrical fire maintenance. The primary responsibility is to conduct reactive maintenance on control panels and fire electrical systems, such as detectors and sensors, as well as fire protection systems. The role involves responding to fault reports, performing testing or fault finding to diagnose issues, and completing necessary repairs.
This position requires night shifts, working 12-hour shifts from 7pm to 7am on a 4-on-4-off basis. You will be working predominantly on fire systems located within underground staff areas and control rooms. It is essential that applicants possess ICI-LU certification and have experience working in underground environments.
Skills:
• Fault finding and diagnostic skills
• Experience in electrical repair and maintenance
• Familiarity with control panels and fire protection systems
• Proficiency in testing and commissioning electrical systems
• Ability to work night shifts
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
• Experience in underground work environments
• Hands-on experience with fire detection systems
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations
Software/Tools:
• MAXIMO (or similar work management systems)
Certifications & Standards:
