About the Role:
We are a warm and inclusive primary school located in the heart of Fulham, and we are looking to appoint a compassionate, skilled and enthusiastic Reception Teacher with strong SEN experience to join our dedicated team from September 2025.
This role is a unique opportunity to lead a very small Reception class including 4 pupils with ASD. The children present with a range of needs, including language and communication difficulties, limited attention span, and some emotional regulation challenges. You will play a vital role in shaping their early school experience, providing a nurturing and structured environment where each child can flourish.
We are looking for someone who:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Has experience working with children with Autism, particularly in the areas of communication, sensory needs, and emotional regulation
Is confident in using adapted teaching strategies to meet individual learning profiles, including the use of visuals, structured routines, and communication tools (e.g. PECs, Makaton, or AAC)
Understands the EYFS framework and how to adapt it for children with complex needs
Is patient, emotionally resilient, and highly nurturing
Works collaboratively with SEN specialists, support staff, and parents to create consistent support and progress
Values inclusion and celebrates small steps of progress
