Job Title: Group Worker – Substance Misuse Service
Location: Hull
Pay Rate: Up to £24 (Umbrella), £21.20 (PAYE INC), £18.92 (PAYE EX)
Contract Type: Full time role, 3 month contract
Job Description: We are currently seeking an experienced Group Worker to join a specialist Substance Misuse Service. The successful candidate will facilitate and deliver structured group-based interventions to individuals affected by drug and/or alcohol misuse, supporting them through treatment and recovery-focused programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver structured group sessions focused on recovery, relapse prevention, and harm reduction
Engage and motivate service users within a group setting, promoting participation and peer support
Support individuals in achieving their recovery goals through group-based interventions
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies
Contribute to assessments, risk management, and recovery planning where required
Maintain accurate and timely records in line with service requirements
Essential Requirements:
Proven experience working within the substance misuse sector
Experience facilitating group work or structured interventions
Strong understanding of drug and alcohol treatment and recovery approaches
Excellent communication and engagement skills
Ability to manage group dynamics and create a safe, inclusive environment
Desirable:
Relevant qualification (e.g. Health & Social Care, Addiction Studies, or similar)
Experience working with complex needs (mental health, homelessness, offending history)
