Job Role: Recycling Centre Operative
Location: Lairg/ Bonar Bridge/ Dornoch
Start: ASAP
Contract Length: 8 weeks initially- possibility of extension
Pay Rate: £14.18 per hour
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am-4.30pm & Friday 8am-4pm
Key Responsibilities:
Operate effectively both independently and as part of a team to manage incoming and outgoing waste at the Recycling Centre
Deliver high standards of customer service, assisting site users and promoting recycling best practices
Safely operate equipment, including compacting skips, and carry out daily checks with defect reporting
Conduct routine inspections of the site, including buildings and surfaces, reporting issues and recommending corrective actions
Maintain a safe and efficient environment by managing traffic flow, upholding housekeeping standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
Complete required administrative tasks and undertake additional duties as directed by the Foreperson
Key Skills
Previous experience working as a Site Operative in a waste or recycling environment
Full, valid UK driving licence (essential)
Strong understanding of health and safety procedures and safe working practices
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Good communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues and the public
