We have partnered with one of the UKs leading FM Contractors, and we are looking for a skilled Industrial Refrigeration Engineer to join the team. This exciting opportunity will have you working across client sites in Scotland, covering a range of industrial and heavy commercial refrigeration systems. Key Responsibilities:
As an Industrial Refrigeration Engineer, you'll be responsible for:
PPM & Reactive Maintenance: Carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and troubleshooting all types of refrigeration systems, including ammonia, F-Gas (HFC/HFO), carbon dioxide, and hydrocarbons.
Fault Diagnosis: Resolving mechanical, electrical, and control system faults. You'll also be on standby to provide reactive support when necessary.
Compressor Repairs & Overhauls: Conducting repairs and servicing of compressors to ensure optimal performance.
Testing & Charging: Performing leak tests, pressure tests, refrigerant recovery, and charging of systems.
Teamwork & Initiative: Working independently and within a team to meet agreed targets and customer needs.
Customer Relations: Building and maintaining strong relationships by understanding customer operations and providing excellent service.
Documentation & Reporting: Ensuring all documentation is completed to a high standard and in compliance with safety and quality protocols.
Housekeeping: Keeping plant rooms and equipment well-maintained and in good working order.
Skills & Qualifications:
To thrive in this role, we are looking for:
Formal Training: Ideally, you have completed an apprenticeship in Refrigeration and hold relevant qualifications.
Certifications:
CITB Safety Passport
City & Guilds 2078/2079 F-Gas Refrigerant Handling
CITB Ammonia Handling Certificate
CO2 and A3 Refrigerant Handling Certificates
City & Guilds 207 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
NVQ Level 1, 2 & 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
Pressure Testing Competency
Specific Compressor Manufacturer Training
Experience with Controls: Strong experience with controls and system strategy is highly desirable.
Software Proficiency: A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
Communication & Attitude: Excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive, 'can-do' attitude are key to succeeding in this role.
