Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
To undertake a range of duties in a team environment connected with the collection and disposal of waste and recycling across the County. Operatives will perform in a number of capacities including, kerbside refuse and recycling collections, bag/container delivery to households and businesses, fly tipping removal etc.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
To undertake collection and loading activities involving the use of a range of containers (for example household bins, plastic sacks, ‘commercial wheelie bins’, food waste bins and boxes).
2.
The issuing of bags and containers etc. as required
3.
To ensure compliance with relevant Health and Safety legislation.
4.
To clean up any spillages.
5.
Assisting the driver in the safe manoeuvring of the vehicle as required by undertaking banks-man duties.
6.
Collection and recording of data relating to participation/performance.
7.
Supplying information/advice to householders on a range of general waste and recycling issues.
