We are now recruiting for a Regional Buyer to develop dependably supply sources and purchase / hire all materials & plant to the Company’s business requirements.
You will assist with Supply Chain management to ensure a high standard of quality is maintained.
As our Regional Buyer you will be specifically responsible for:
* Act as the main point of contact for all Materials, Plant, and PPE purchasing.
* Manage procurement through internal databases and software, including raising purchase orders.
* Source quotes, build supplier relationships, and maintain supplier account records.
* Coordinate vehicle hire and manage associated logs and insurance.
* Log, track, and audit tools and plant equipment to ensure servicing, calibration, and correct location.
* Maintain office and external stores, ensuring all materials and equipment are recorded with necessary compliance documentation.
* Liaise with Contracts teams to reduce waste and manage resource availability.
* Maintain Regional PPE and Asset Registers.
* Support product research and development aligned with environmental and social value goals.
* Collaborate closely with the Regional Admin & Procurement team to ensure accurate invoicing and reporting.
* Provide cover and support to other team members when required.
* Assist HR and Training in onboarding and developing procurement staff.
* Promote innovation, professionalism, and high standards across all procurement activities.
* Contribute to health & safety, sustainability, and social value objectives.
In order to be successful in this role you must have / be:
* Significant previous experience as a Buyer, preferably within the construction industry.
* A-Level / NVQ Level 3, or equivalent qualification.
* Fully conversant with modern office equipment and Microsoft Office.
* Strong financial acumen.
* A full UK Driver’s license.
* Written and verbal reporting / presentation skills.
* The ability to mentor other team members within the procurement team.
* Strong organisational and negotiation skills.
* A keen attention to detail whilst being able to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
