Job Description

Our client is offering a compelling opportunity for a dynamic and entrepreneurial leader to join their senior leadership team as Director, with responsibility for leading and growing the team based in Manchester. This role combines team leadership with a wider strategic remit across the business. From the Manchester office, you’ll focus on developing our presence across the north of England, building and inspiring a high- performing team, deepening client relationships, and expanding market share. Across the wider business you’ll play an integral role in contributing to commercial strategy, operational excellence, and cross-regional collaboration. Working closely with fellow regional and the Board Directors to shape the future direction of the business and its people, drive growth across all sectors and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across all projects. Responsibilities Strategic leadership: Develop and lead on the preparation and execution of the Manchester office’s business plan in alignment with business's overall objectives; maintaining accountability for delivering on the financial and operational targets, as agreed with the Executive Board. Operational management: Be fully knowledgeable about the overall status of the Manchester office’s portfolio of projects including profitability, invoicing and debtors. Implement and direct compliance with all business policies and procedures including, but not limited to, quality assurance (ISO), health and safety, finance and human resources. Business development: Lead on identifying and securing new business opportunities and partnerships in collaboration with other sector and office leads, bid team and the business development and marketing team. Act as a key representative of the business and maintain an active and on brand industry profile. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients and wider industry contacts. Client relationship management: Undertake client management duties with respect to the Manchester office’s portfolio of projects ensuring client satisfaction and opportunities for repeat business. Team leadership: Recruit, develop and retain a high-performing team. Provide mentorship and guidance, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, supporting the professional development of the team. Risk management: Identify potential business risks and proactively raise these risks with appropriate persons. Contribute to the development of strategies to mitigate and manage these risks. Individual Characteristics for the successful candidate - This role is ideal for you if you have strong commercial instincts, a passion for leadership and the ambition to make a lasting impact. You will demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and expertise: • 15+ Years property and construction experience with the majority in project management. • Experience across multiple sectors, particularly high density residential but also including commercial offices/occupiers and science & innovation. • Demonstrable experience of leadership and team building with the ability to develop others. • Ability to building strong effective relationships with colleagues, fellow consultants, contractors and clients. • Demonstrable work winning capability, including building personal and company profile. • Demonstrated ability to manage financial performance, including budgets, costs, and profitability. • Recognised professional qualification (ChPP, MRICS, MCIOB) preferred. • Full UK driving licence essential. • Be knowledgeable of construction industry issues, challenges, and opportunities e.g. BSA, changes to the NPPF etc
