Regional Driver Trainer

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: Up to £40,000 + company car + excellent benefits
Help shape the future of professional driving.
We’re looking for a skilled and safety-driven HGV professional to take on a key regional position, supporting the development of around 80 professional drivers across East Anglia.
If you’re passionate about coaching others, maintaining high operational standards, and ensuring every journey is completed safely and efficiently, this is your chance to make a real impact.
What you’ll do
As Regional Driver Trainer, you’ll be responsible for enhancing driver standards and compliance across several operational sites. You’ll:
* Deliver engaging, practical, and classroom-based driver training and assessments.
* Coach and mentor drivers and apprentices, supporting them throughout their learning and development journey.
* Lead refresher and induction programmes focused on safety, compliance, and customer service.
* Support the regional transport leadership team in maintaining consistent driver standards across all sites.
* Audit and analyse training outcomes, tachograph data, and safety reports to identify and address trends.
* Collaborate with national training and compliance teams to share insights and continuously improve standards.
This is a hands-on role with real variety; one day you’ll be on-site conducting assessments, the next you’ll be shaping development plans or supporting incident reviews.
About you
You’ll bring proven experience behind the wheel and a genuine enthusiasm for developing others. You’ll also have:
* A current HGV Category C+E licence and strong knowledge of driver compliance, WTD, and safe driving practices.
* Confidence in engaging and coaching people at all levels.
* A proactive, detail-focused approach with a passion for safety and continuous improvement.
* Willingness to travel regularly between regional sites (Bury St Edmunds, Peterborough & Norwich).
Desirable (training can be supported):
* Formal teaching, coaching, or training qualification (e.g. Level 3 Award in Education & Training).
* CPC in Road Haulage (National/International).
* Experience within LPG, fuel, utilities, or other hazardous logistics environments.
* ADR awareness or certification.
Why join us
You’ll join a supportive, values-led organisation where safety, development, and quality come first. In return, you’ll receive:
* A competitive salary and company car.
* Access to ongoing professional development and specialist training.
* The opportunity to influence driving standards across a high-performing regional operation.
* A collaborative culture where your ideas and expertise make a genuine difference.
If you’re ready to take your HGV experience further and play a leading role in driver development, we’d love to hear from you.
