Job Description

Overall Responsibility : 1. To maintain and develop the Company’s Sales resources, in the defined region, through the active management of a Branch network. 2. To assist in the production of sales budgets for Branches in the Region and commit to their achievement of Company Sales and Profit Targets. 3. To recommend, plan and implement ways of increasing the Company’s market share via Branch Managers and Field Sales Representation. 4. Develop and be accountable for Branch sales to Companies, Organisations and Authorities that have a regional or central buying activity. 5. To maintain an active interface with head office functions to ensure that Branch Sales are maximised and that Managers time is used effectively. 6. Ensure that personal skills are sufficient to control the function and deliver a valid interpretation of current issues to the company. 7. To maintain and develop company admin functions to ensure profitability is maximised. to ensure that the Brand Daily Admin Reports are actioned fully. 8. To conduct quarterly audits and ensure the implementation of any shortfall. Reports to : Operations Manager Field based with a need to travel throughout the UK and attend meetings at any specified location as required. Specific Duties : 1. Develop and maintain a good working relationship with all MPD Branch Managers and staff building confidence in your leadership style and ensuring all management issues are dealt with swiftly and effectively. 2. Assist Branch Managers to develop and implement an effective branch Sales Business Plan for each Branch within the region. 3. Undertake regular reviews of branch Business Plans to re-asses and maintain their effectiveness. 4. Conduct regular assessments of Branch Managers and Field Sales Representatives 5. Develop and implement effective sales training and coaching programmes 6. Ensure that an effective daily reporting procedure is in operation for Branch sales reps and monitor their progress. 7. Maximise the use of all sales promotions and initiatives ensuring all marketing and promotional materials are used to best effect to grow Branch sales and meet specified targets, monitor and report progress weekly. 8. Organize and run effective, motivational and results oriented regional meetings. 9. Work to ensure a results oriented team relationship is developed between managers and all branch staff. 10. Ensure the effective use of all available technology and software to increase sales effectiveness. Job Specification – Regional Manager (cont’d) 11. By example generate a proactive outlook within the branches in regard to all aspects of sales development and planning. 12. Evolve a Regional development plan to maximise the Company sales within the region by expansion inline with agreed parameters. 13. Ensure all staff operate in accordance with the company procedures manual, including all Health and Safety Policies and COSSH requirements. 14. To visit trade customers with Branch Manager / Sales Reps to asses and develop their full potential. Reporting : Report weekly to Senior Management Team on Branch Sales performance, including all promotional activity, which are results, orientated. Report monthly to the Operations Director on individual Branch Sales performance against agreed targets highlighting strengths and weaknesses together with proposed action if required. Report as and when on all market intelligence to Senior Management Team Complete weekly itinerary including planned movements, branch visits and purpose of. Report as and when informed all planned holidays for branch managers. General : Promote a positive image of Motor parts Direct with staff, suppliers and customers at all times. Maintain a personal appearance and conduct at all times in a fashion to compliment the company’s professional standing. Adopt a style of leadership most likely to get the best results in different situations and appropriate to our market place. Attend and take an active part in all management meetings as required. To assist the company from time to time, with any reasonable task which may fall outside of this particular job specification
