Job Description

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: Using strong industry knowledge to actively seek out and build business prospects with new customers, and develop and maintain excellent relationships with current customers, working within an allocated geographical territory. Additionally, to increase and improve exposure within the market place, and provide complete and appropriate solutions to each account to boost top-line revenue. CONTRACTED HOURS: 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday 08:00-17:00) Flexibility is required to meet demand REPORTING TO: Group Sales Director LOCATION: HOME – You will be required to travel predominately within your allocated geographical area ENVIRONMENT: Field based KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES: * To gain an in-depth knowledge of all MBP group products, (Frames, Doors, Doorsets, Doorkits, Fire and Acoustic Seals) * To develop profitable long term relationships with all existing and potential accounts within the defined geographical area * To devise and implement creative initiatives to grow business within individual accounts and across the assigned territory * Create business plans for each customer from detailed key information and objectives, to increase turnover * Deliver Power Point presentations to customers * Identify up-selling opportunities for new and existing customers * To ensure that MBP is presented as best in industry for customer service, professionalism and account management * Comply with the Health and Safety responsibilities as defined in the company health and safety policy, and ensure that any specific responsibilities are adequately delegated when required * Keep up to date records of sales and activity, and ensure all relevant personnel in the company are updated (future CRM System) * Work closely with internal team members and departments and providing updates on customer activity * Ensure forecasting and promotional planning procedures are followed to minimise operational disruption and maximise customer satisfaction. * Occasionally assist in attending trade shows or events * Assist when required in the training and support of new staff members MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: * A working knowledge of house builders, building contractors, joinery manufacturers and builders merchants is essential * Previous experience in field sales * A good level of education, a degree is desirable but not essential * Joinery experience would be an advantage but not essential KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES: * Driven and passionate to achieve targets and KPI’s * Ability to use initiative * Thrive under pressure * Excellent time management * Self-motivated, including planning and organising ADDITIONAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS: * Strong communication, influencing and networking skills * Excellent sales and negotiation skills * Full UK drivers licence * Strong numeracy and literacy skills
