Registration Regulations Reform Project Manager Maritime and Coastguard Agency Apply before 11:55 pm on Sunday 9th August 2026 📍 Location: Southampton (This role is suitable for hybrid working) 💷 Salary: £35,663 - A Civil Service Pension with an employer contribution of 28.97% 🕘️ Contract Type: Fixed Term (24 months with potential for extension and/or permanency) – Flexible working, Full-time, Job share, Part-time 🏆️ Available Positions: 1 The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) is seeking a Registration Regulations Reform Project Manager to implement the government’s maritime safety policy in the United Kingdom (UK) and works to prevent the loss of life and occurrence of pollution on the coast and at sea. The role sits within the Directorate of UK Customer Maritime Services (UKCMS) which is responsible for the Registry of Shipping and Seafarers, Seafarer Certification, Seafarer Examinations, Seafarer Safety and Health, Business Transformation and Customer Insight, the Innovation Hub and the UK Shipping Concierge. The Directorate is responsible for the registration of all vessels on the UK Flag operating globally, provides support to UK seafarers working in the UK and internationally, issues certificates and conducts examinations for seafarers, represents the UK maritime offer, as well as horizon scanning for future regulatory change required in the maritime sector. Top Responsibilities * Managing the day-to-day delivery activity for the programme, ensuring milestones, dependencies and deliverables are clearly defined and progressed. * Maintaining oversight of workstreams, ensuring alignment across policy, legal, operational and transformation inputs. * Supporting the Project Lead in maintaining delivery momentum, identifying and addressing delivery barriers. * Developing and maintaining delivery plans, trackers and programme documentation, ensuring accuracy and visibility of progress. * Monitoring risks, issues and dependencies, escalating appropriately with clear recommendations. * Providing regular, structured reporting to the Project Lead and senior stakeholders, supporting effective decision-making. * Acting as a key point of co-ordination between MCA teams, legal advisers and external stakeholders, ensuring timely flow of information and alignment of activity. About You To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience: * Experience of managing or supporting delivery of projects or programmes, ideally within a policy, regulatory or public sector environment. * Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities. * Experience of producing high-quality written outputs, including briefings, reports or delivery documentation. * Ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including legal, policy and operational teams. * Good judgement, attention to detail and ability to operate in a structured and controlled way.
