Rehabilitation Officer – Sensory Impairment Services
Local Authority located in Enfield.
Contract: Full-time | Initial 3–6 months with potential for extension
A local authority in North East London is looking to recruit a qualified Rehabilitation Officer to join a well-structured sensory impairment team.
The client offers flexible working, professional development, and the opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of people with visual and dual sensory impairments. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about promoting independence, choice, and dignity through rehabilitation services.
Main Duties:
Provide rehabilitation services, including orientation and mobility training, living skills training, and communication skills
Assess and support individuals with visual impairment and dual sensory loss
Develop personalised rehabilitation plans to promote independence
Support Deaf and Hard of Hearing service users where required
Work collaboratively with other professionals to deliver holistic care
Promote dignity, respect, and safeguarding in all interventionsRequirements:
Diploma in Rehabilitation Studies or equivalent qualification
Experience working with people with visual impairment, dual sensory loss, or hearing loss
Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques, orientation and mobility, and living skills training
Eligibility to work in the UK
HCPC Registration (if applicable)
Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can assist)Benefits:
