Job Title: Relief Driver (7.5T or Class 2) – Yard Support
Location: Purfleet-on-Thames
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: 06:00 – 15:00, Monday to Friday
About the Role:
We are currently seeking a dependable and flexible Relief Driver to join our team in Purfleet-on-Thames. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a mix of driving and yard-based duties. When not covering routes, you’ll play a key role supporting daily operations within the yard.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide driving cover for 7.5T or Class 2 vehicles across local and regional routes
*
Carry out multi-drop deliveries and collections in a safe and timely manner
*
Perform daily vehicle checks and ensure full compliance with transport legislation
*
Support general yard duties including loading, unloading, stock handling, and upkeep
*
Work closely with warehouse and transport teams to maintain smooth operations
*
Uphold all site safety protocols and promote a clean, organised working environment
*
Deliver excellent customer service on the road and on-site
Requirements:
*
Valid 7.5T or Class 2 (Category C) licence
*
CPC and Digital Tachograph Card required
*
Previous experience in a similar driving or yard-based role preferred
*
Comfortable with manual handling and working outdoors when necessary
*
Strong communication skills and a positive, team-focused approach
*
Good knowledge of driver hours and transport compliance
