About the Role:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated Religious Education Teacher to join a dynamic secondary school in Milton Keynes. The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching RE across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, and committed to fostering a positive learning environment where students are encouraged to explore and develop their understanding of religion, philosophy, and ethics.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging and thought-provoking RE lessons in line with the national curriculum
Foster a respectful, inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and discussion around various religious beliefs and practices
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback and support for improvement
Differentiate teaching approaches to accommodate diverse learning needs, ensuring all students are challenged and supported
Collaborate with colleagues to create cross-curricular links and enhance the overall educational experience
Participate in school events, staff meetings, and continuous professional development activities
Uphold the school’s safeguarding policies, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
A degree in Religious Education, Theology, Philosophy, or a related subject
Experience teaching RE at secondary school level, ideally up to A-Level
Strong communication and organisational skills
A commitment to promoting tolerance, understanding, and diversity within the classroom
Desirable:
Previous experience working in a similar role
A passion for engaging students in ethical debates and contemporary religious issues
Experience working with SEN students and adapting lessons to meet their needs
