Teacher of Philosophy & Ethics (Religious Education) Location: London Borough of Newham Start Date: September 2025 Salary: Inner London Main/Upper Pay Scale (£40,317 - £60,092)
The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for a thoughtful and engaging Teacher of Philosophy & Ethics (Religious Education) to join a vibrant humanities department at a progressive secondary school in the London Borough of Newham. This role is ideal for an educator passionate about exploring fundamental questions of existence, morality, and belief.
The Role You will teach Philosophy & Ethics (as part of the Religious Education curriculum) across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 (GCSE and A-Level). Responsibilities include designing and delivering thought-provoking lessons that explore diverse religious and non-religious worldviews, ethical theories, and philosophical concepts. You will foster critical thinking, respectful debate, and encourage students to develop their own reasoned perspectives.
