Job Description
Veritas Education is currently working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Pontefract to recruit a committed and engaging Religious Studies Teacher. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher to join a supportive humanities department and make a real impact on students' understanding of worldviews, ethics, and philosophy.
The Role:
Deliver high-quality Religious Studies lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
Promote critical thinking, tolerance, and respect through engaging teaching
Plan and assess in line with the national curriculum and school policies
Contribute to the wider school ethos and enrichment opportunities
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience teaching Religious Studies in a UK secondary school
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for inclusive education
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
