Job Description

Commercial Administrator – A303 Highways Upgrade £16.50–£20 per hour | 42.5 hours a week | 99% Remote Short-Term Contract (2–3 Months with more projects locally so chance for more work) | Large Civil Engineering Business ROLE IS MAINLY REMOTE. OCCASIONAL VISIT TO SITE MAY BE REQUIRED NEAR YEOVIL, SOMERSET. YOU SHOULD LIVE WITHIN A TRAVELLABLE DISTANCE. UK RESIDENTS ONLY. I’m working with a large civil engineering business who delivered the A303 upgrade, now fully reopened to traffic. They need a Commercial Administrator to support the close-out phase of the project for the next couple of months. Think tidy-up, audit prep, clearing backlog and keeping the cost side organised. It’s almost entirely remote with very minimal site presence. And once this wraps up, there’s every chance of rolling onto other work nearby if you do a solid job. What you’ll be doing: • Downloading and collating invoices and supporting paperwork for client audit • Reviewing outstanding unpaid invoices on the cost management system and closing them out to payment • Keeping simple progress trackers updated for daily meetings • Collating weekly labour timesheets and issuing these to suppliers for invoicing • General electronic filing plus uploading documents via SharePoint, Viewpoint and similar platforms What you’ll need: • A finance or admin background — anything involving invoices, POs, payments, reconciliations or cost tracking is ideal • Comfortable working with cost systems, Excel trackers and digital filing platforms • Confident handling paperwork quickly and accurately • Happy chasing missing information when needed • Experience in construction or civil engineering is helpful but a solid finance admin profile works just as well • Someone who’s organised, reliable and able to crack on remotely without hand-holding If you’re used to processing invoices, keeping cost information tidy and supporting busy teams in the background, this will fit you perfectly.
