Job Description

Key Responsibilities - Rents and Service Charge Manager will: Be responsible for managing the annual rent modelling exercise for tenants and final rent and service charge calculations, liaising with key stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of rents and service charges. Ensure all Regulatory and Legislation requirements are met when setting rents and service charges and notifying tenants. Be responsible for the reviewing and updating of the rents and service charges policy and ensuring it is adhered too. Ensure the data is reflected correctly on the Housing management system for charging purposes. Be responsible for the production of reports that ensure performance is understood and that variances, issues and risks are promptly brought to the attention of the Head of Finance. Monitor and evaluate financial information systems to ensure that all policies and processes in line with changing legislation and regulatory requirements. Responsible for the reconciliation of rent and service charge accounts and the preparation of annual statements. Responsible for responding to tenant enquiries or complaints and resolving issues related to rents and service charges, working collaboratively with colleagues from other departments to ensure a high level of service. Lead in the preparation of accurate and timely information to support all external reporting, including internal and external audits and any regulatory returns. Wil be responsible for the preparation and submission of the Statistical Data Return to the Regulator of Social Housing and support other returns. Input into the Management Accounts, in particular reporting on budgets relating to rents and service charges. Will be responsible for budget management of rents and service charges liaising with the Director of Housing and Tenant Experience and the Head of Housing. Support the Budget setting and Business planning process providing information on Rents and Service Charges. Be Responsible for writing Executive/Committee Reports on Rents and Service Charges. Assist with the valuation process providing data and information for its submission. Manage the Finance Assistant - Rents and Service Charges and provide direction.
