Repairs Supervisor - Social Housing | Brent

Location: Brent, North West London
Salary: £45,000 per annum
Contract: Temp to Perm
Sector: Social Housing 

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Repairs Supervisor to join a well-established social housing organisation covering the North West London area. This is an excellent opportunity for a repairs professional looking for a long-term position, with the role initially offered on a temporary-to-permanent basis.

You will be responsible for supervising day-to-day repairs and maintenance activities across a residential housing stock, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard while maintaining excellent levels of customer service.

The Role

As Repairs Supervisor, you will oversee a team of trades operatives and subcontractors, managing the delivery of responsive repairs across occupied and void properties.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Supervising and coordinating a team of multi-skilled trades operatives.
Managing daily workloads, allocating jobs and monitoring productivity.
Ensuring responsive repairs are completed within agreed timescales and service standards.
Carrying out regular property inspections and quality checks.
Monitoring operatives' performance, workmanship and compliance with company procedures.
Liaising with residents to resolve repair issues and provide a high level of customer service.
Managing subcontractors where required and ensuring works are completed to specification.
Identifying and resolving issues that may impact on programme, quality or customer satisfaction.
Ensuring all works comply with relevant health & safety requirements.
Completing reports, updating systems and maintaining accurate records.
Supporting the management team with performance monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives.
Dealing with escalated repairs and customer complaints professionally and effectively.

About You

We are looking for someone with a strong background in social housing repairs or property maintenance, ideally with previous supervisory or team-leading experience.

You will ideally have:

Previous experience supervising responsive repairs within social housing.
Experience managing trades operatives and/or subcontractors.
Good knowledge of housing repairs, maintenance and building practices.
Strong understanding of health & safety and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
The ability to organise workloads and prioritise effectively.
A proactive approach to problem-solving.
Good IT and administrative skills.
The confidence to deal with residents, operatives, contractors and senior management.
A full UK driving licence is desirable.
