Job Description
NES Fircroft is seeking a dedicated Research & Development Technician to join a leading global agricultural company at their Bracknell site. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the glasshouse team on a 12 month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
As a member of the R&D team, you will work in the glasshouse, supporting a range of plant research and seed production activities, including:
Sowing seeds, transplanting plantlets, tissue sampling, harvesting, and threshing
Training in and performing cross-pollination techniques
Conducting seed processing tasks such as automated seed counting, cleaning, labelling, and registration
Identifying and implementing improvements to glasshouse processes and proceduresThis role involves physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, lifting, and moving materials around the nursery. A good level of physical fitness and stamina is essential.
We are looking for someone with:
A degree (or equivalent) in biological or agricultural sciences
Practical experience working in a glasshouse or controlled environment
Awareness of plant growth and care requirements
