Residential Child Care Worker – Social Care – SY21 (Welshpool)

We are looking for Residential Child Care Worker based at : Welshpool, SY21
Key Accountabilities:
* Work as part of a team of therapeutic carers, typically 6–7 staff per shift, led by a Team Leader or Senior
* Provide day-to-day care and support, including mentoring, nurturing, role modelling, and building positive relationships
* Engage in a wide range of activities with young people such as helping with homework, cooking, gardening, gaming, outdoor activities, and bedtime routines
* Maintain firm but supportive boundaries, prioritising safeguarding, and open communication
* Contribute to a therapeutic community by working alongside the onsite school and therapy team
* Participate in reflective practice and team discussions to continuously improve care
* Support decision-making and service development by engaging in staff forums and surveys
Requirements :
We welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds. Whether you already have childcare experience or are looking for a new career in this field, full training and support will be provided.
* Over 21 years of age
* Full UK driving licence
* QCF Level 3 in childcare
* Good basic English and IT communication skills
* Positive attributes such as resilience, humour, creativity, problem solving, and a genuine interest in supporting young people
Desirable:
* Previous experience in residential childcare (training provided if new to the sector)
