Job Title: Residential Childcare Tutor
Salary: £32,000
Location: North West / Hybrid
Job Purpose / Summary
To provide high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment to learners in residential childcare up to Level 5, ensuring compliance with awarding and regulatory bodies (Ofsted, ESFA, EPAOs) and meeting all learning outcomes through engaging, flexible delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum & Delivery
Design and deliver learning programmes and resources that meet curriculum standards.
Teach and assess qualifications (including Functional Skills Level 2 in English & Maths).
Deliver sessions via online platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams), group workshops, and one-on-one.
Tailor delivery to learner needs while following the company’s schemes of work.
Learner Support & Progression
Maintain regular, documented engagement and reviews.
Ensure learners achieve qualifications timely and are ready for EPA.
Support learners who may need extra help (e.g., ESL learners, those with learning needs).
Motivate learners and promote session attendance and timely work completion.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Meet all internal and external standards (e.g., Ofsted, Awarding Bodies).
Contribute to internal audits, quality improvement plans, and Ofsted inspections.
Maintain accurate learner records via e-portfolio systems.
Conduct reviews and maintain frequent employer engagement.
Administration
Use IT systems to update learner progress, plan sessions, and monitor engagement.
Ensure documentation meets auditable standards.
Team Collaboration
Attend team meetings, participate in standardisation, share best practices.
Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of new staff.
Provide reports and data as requested by management.
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Relevant occupational competence in Residential Childcare (Level 3-5).
CAVA/Teaching qualification (or willingness to work toward it).
L2 in Functional Skills English and Maths.
Confident in online delivery and digital platforms (e.g., Teams).
Self-motivated, excellent time management, interpersonal and organisational skills.
Comfortable supporting learners from diverse backgrounds.
Commitment to continuous professional development and company values.

* Adhere to safeguarding, GDPR, H&S, equality and diversity, and all company policies.
* Contribute to continuous quality improvement culture.
* Flexible to take on additional duties as required by management.
Reporting & Liaison
* Internal: Cross-departmental staff within the company.
* External: Learners, employers, referral partners, and occasionally parents.
