Job Description

Residential Children's Support Worker Temp to perm £13 - £14 per hour Long days and sleep in's Full time Surrey based Job role As a Residential Children's Support Worker, you will be part of a dedicated care team providing 24/7 support to young people living in the home. You will work directly with young people aged up to 18 who may present with emotional, behavioural, and social difficulties, often as a result of past trauma or adverse childhood experiences. Your role is to build trusting, professional relationships with each young person, contribute to their Care Plans and Risk Assessments, and provide consistent emotional and practical support. This includes helping them develop life skills, attend education or training, and manage their behaviour in line with therapeutic approaches used in the home. You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe, structured, and homely environment, supporting each young person's progress toward greater independence and emotional resilience. To apply for this role, you must have NVQ level 3 Diploma or a 2 years experience in a children's residential setting Experience in childcare settings Safeguarding children knowledge Ability to handle conflict effectively Managing stress in self and others Good written and verbal communication IT literacyDuties Contribute to Care Plans, Behaviour Support Plans, and Risk Assessments Participate in regular reviews with internal and external professionals Record daily logs, incidents, and progress in line with regulatory requirements Advocate for young people in meetings with social workers, education providers, and other agencies Work in partnership with multi-agency professionals to promote best outcome Provide high-quality, child-centred care in line with the individual needs of each young person Build consistent, trusting relationships through key working sessions and daily routines Promote and safeguard the physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing of young people Maintain cleanliness and order in the home through daily routines and tasks Complete health and safety checks and report concerns immediately Participate in shift handovers, team meetings, training, and supervisions Follow lone working procedures when required Respond appropriately to emergencies, disclosures, or safeguarding concerns Uphold the home's values, policies, and standards at all times If you feel that you fully meet the above outlined criteria for this role and would like to apply for this post, please forward your CV for consideration to Jade directly at Barker Ross - (url removed) *Please note the above outlined experience is the 'minimum' first stage criteria for this role, we will therefore be unable to consider your application unless you are able to demonstrate a relevant work history in line with this position* Barker Ross Group values diversity and promotes equality.
