Residential Children & Young Peoples Worker

💙 Permanent and full time
💰 £26,666 - £30,351 (plus approx £3,000 due to a night premium)
🤩 Based on a 3-week rolling rota

We're looking for compassionate and committed Residential Children & Young Peoples Workers for our beautiful new Mental Health Residential home that will support children & young people with a range of complex needs, providing a nurturing environment that enables them to continue to recover from the mental health issues that led to their admission to a Tier 4 CAMHS unit. The home will meet the specific needs of children & young people who are ready for discharge and no longer require inpatient mental health services but are not yet able or ready to return to home or still require a period of time in a therapeutic setting.

What you'll be doing. Every day brings something different. You'll:
✨To build trust and develop nurturing relationships which promote the service user's independence, wellbeing, strengths, and capabilities.
✨To work in partnership and build relationships with parents/carers and other professionals.
✨To contribute to the up keep of the home including cooking, cleaning etc.
✨To document information accurately and ensure records are kept up to date.
✨To ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to.
✨To promote, monitor and maintain a safe environment at all times.

We're looking for someone who:
Is a driver.
Holds (or is willing to work towards) a Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
Must be motivated by the opportunity to make a positive difference in young people's lives, creating a safe space and building resilience.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
Relevant experience working with children & young people is desirable, but not essential with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Is flexible to work shifts, sleep-ins, weekends and bank holidays.
