We’re proud to be working on behalf of our client to recruit their next Deputy Manager for a Children’s Residential Home near Colchester – rated 'Good' with 'Outstanding' Leadership by Ofsted.
If you’re an experienced leader with a passion for therapeutic, attachment-based care and a drive to make a difference in the lives of young people aged 10–18 with emotional and behavioural needs – we want to hear from you.

What you’ll do:

Support the Registered Manager in the daily running of the home
*
Supervise and lead a passionate care team
*
Deliver high standards of trauma-informed, therapeutic care
*
Oversee risk assessments, shift rotas & regulatory documentation
*
Be part of a rota and occasional on-call duties (pre-arranged)
*
Inspire a positive and proactive culture in the home
*
Build strong relationships with children, families, and professionals
*
Lead by example through empathy, resilience, and consistency
What we’re looking for:
*
NVQ Level 3 (Children & Young People) – essential
*
Minimum 1 year as Deputy Manager or Shift Leader / Team Leader
*
Minimum 2 years’ experience in children’s residential care
*
Full UK driving licence
*
Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations
*
Confident in writing risk assessments & leading teams
*
A therapeutic mindset, calm under pressure, and full of empathy
*
Working towards or willing to complete Level 5 Diploma
