Job Description: Residential Children’s Senior Support Worker / Team Leader Location: Birmingham / Dudley / West Bromwich (In Person) Contract: Permanent Hours: Full-time - 163 hrs Salary: £14.25 - £16.00 per hour (Dependent on qualifications and experience) + £70 per sleep-in Overtime: Paid at time and a quarter above 163 hrs At SANQ Children’s Services, we do things properly. We provide safe, stable, and caring homes for children with complex needs and we support our staff just as strongly as the young people we care for. We’re looking for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker / Team Leader who is confident leading shifts, supporting staff, and building positive, trusting relationships with children. This is a hands-on role where your experience is valued, your voice is heard, and your commitment is recognised. The Role * Lead shifts and support the day-to-day running of the home * Create a safe, warm, and structured environment for young people * Build strong, trusting relationships with each child * Support care planning, key work, risk assessments, and placement plans * Supervise staff and promote high standards of care and safeguarding * Support education, activities, and independence skills What we offer * Overtime paid at time and a quarter (above 163 hours) * Attendance bonuses up to £100 per month (T&Cs apply) * Paid day off for your birthday * Extra pay for sickness cover (£50 per sickness cover) * £500 refer-a-friend bonus (T&Cs apply) * Long-service loyalty rewards * Ongoing training and management development * Company pension * Company events * On-site parking * Cycle to work scheme * Casual Dress * Supportive leadership and real progression opportunities * Employee Assistance Programme * Death in service * Progression to Deputy Manager What You’ll Need * NVQ Level 3 for children and young people in residential settings (Required) * Experience in a children’s residential setting (Minimum 2 years essential) * Senior / Team Leader experience (Desired) * Full UK driving license (Desired) * Strong knowledge of safeguarding and Children’s Homes Regulations * Flexibility for sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays (Required) * Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain) * Work authorisation: United Kingdom (Required) We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
