Residential Support Worker - Children's Home
Location: South Manchester
We are thrilled to be working with a new children's home in South Manchester. They are looking for passionate and experienced staff to join their brand new team!
They pride themselves on providing safe and supportive environments for young people. Mission is to empower children and adolescents, helping them to build resilience and achieve their full potential.
Role Overview:
You will be working with young people up to 18 years old. You will play a vital role in supporting and helping them to build confidence, life skills, and resilience in a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Build positive relationships with residents to support their emotional and social development.
* Support daily routines, including meals, education, and activities.
* Create a safe, nurturing environment where young people feel secure and valued.
* Manage challenging behaviour using de-escalation and positive behaviour strategies.
* Maintain accurate records including logs, reports, and incident forms.
* Participate in household tasks like cooking and cleaning when applicable.
* Work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Education: Relevant qualifications in youth work, social care, or a related field are preferred.
* Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage and motivate young men from diverse backgrounds.
* Attributes: A proactive and energetic attitude, with a passion for working with young people. A commitment to being a positive influence and role model.
* Requirements: A valid UK driver's licence and a clear Enhanced DBS check or willing to complete one.
