Residential Support Workers
We will need Support Workers who can provide consistent, compassionate care to children with learning disabilities and who have experienced trauma.
Full time (37 hours)
The post is Grade F (scale points £27,254 - £28,142) and will move to a Grade G once have QCF level 4 is completed.
DBS Required
The ideal candidate will:
• Understand neurodiversity and trauma-informed practice, using approaches that are sensitive to each child’s emotional and developmental needs.
• Be trained in PRICE (Protecting Rights in a Caring Environment), with the ability to use de-escalation and physical intervention techniques safely and appropriately.
• Create a low-arousal, structured environment that promotes emotional regulation, safety, and routine.
• Use clear, simplified communication, visual aids, and collaborative problem-solving to support children’s understanding and engagement.
• Build trusting relationships through empathy, consistency, and attuned responses.
• Work as part of a therapeutic team, contributing to care planning, safeguarding, and reflective practice.
• Have experience working in residential children’s homes.
• Have the Right to Work in the UK.
Design and implement Care Plans and take part in developing any other plans as needed for the child, including safeguarding plans, health plans, risk assessments and behavioural plans.
Act as “Key Worker” for designated children.
The recognised NVQ 4 or QCF diploma in working with children and young people in Residential care, or equivalent relevant Children’s Residential work.
