Job role: Residential Support Worker – Waking Night
Location: Crewe, Cheshire
Salary: £31,680 per annum
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Shift pattern: 3 on 3 off
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Waking Night, Residential Support Worker to join a beautiful two bedded residential home for children and young people within the Crewe area.
You will be joining an amazing organisation who provides beautiful, safe and secure homes for children and young people aged 7-18 with backgrounds of emotional behavioural difficulties and associated learning difficulties. The homes offer long term placements where children and young people receive a high level of nurturing and therapeutic care. Children and young people are supported to attend school and activities and are instil confidence and life skills aiming for the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
Key responsibilities:
As the Waking night Residential Support worker, you will monitor the young people throughout the night and support them where required. You will also:
* Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children and young people through the night time period.
* Be fully aware of safeguarding and child protection issues.
* Fully understand the reporting process of child protection within the home.
* Understand the principals of safeguarding ones self.
* Have a full understanding of the emergency on call procedures of the home.
* Promote structure, boundaries and domestic routines within the home.
* Work in line with young peoples care and placement plans.
* Work in accordance with the National Minimum Care Standards for Children’s homes and cooperate with any inspection process.
* Provide a positive role model for the young people, presenting yourself in a highly professional manner.
* Work in partnership with other agencies to the benefit of the young people.
* Ensure that the building is secured throughout the night time hours.
* Undertake relevant training programmes as required by the National Minimum Care Standards.
* Complete and maintain administrative records as required by the home.
* Develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, children and families.
* Work as part of a team with colleagues and other professional to meet the social, emotional, educational, health and mental health needs of young people.
* Awareness and responsibility for the health and safety of the home, children, young people, colleagues and yourself.
Key requirements:
* Knowledge of child development and traumainformed care practices
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Previous experience in a residential care setting or similar environment (Preferred)
* Full UK Driving Licence (desirable)
