Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and inspirational Residential Team Leader to join a high-performing children's residential care service. Based in a warm, family-feel home with a maximum of four young people, you will play a key leadership role in guiding children aged 8-18 with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties. The ideal candidate will be passionate about improving young lives, capable of leading a team, and committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Safeguarding: ·Support and deputise for the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in the day-to-day operations of the home. ·Provide consistent, high-quality care aligned with Ofsted standards and regulatory frameworks. ·Ensure the home remains safe, homely, inclusive, and developmentally supportive for all residents. ·Contribute to care planning, goal setting, and monitoring the progress of each child. ·Maintain a child-centred approach, always advocating for the best interests of the young people. Team & Staff Management: ·Supervise, coach, and mentor residential support workers through regular performance reviews and team meetings. ·Promote a positive, inclusive team culture that values collaboration and accountability. ·Support staff development through regular training, feedback, and personal development plans. ·Manage staff rotas, sleep-ins, on-call duties, and ensure effective shift deployment. Operational & Business Support: ·Maintain high standards in health & safety, hygiene, food provision, and daily operations. ·Participate in budget control and expenditure management under the guidance of senior leadership. ·Lead or support team meetings and decision-making processes in the absence of senior managers. ·Proactively identify areas for improvement and contribute to the service development plan. Relationship Building & Communication: ·Build meaningful relationships with children and young people, fostering trust, belonging, and personal growth. ·Ensure feedback from children, families, and external agencies is captured and communicated effectively. ·Maintain transparent communication with senior management regarding any key developments or concerns. Essential Requirements: ·Diploma Level 3 in Children & Young People's Workforce (or equivalent) ·Experience working in a children's residential setting ·Proven leadership or supervisory experience within care services ·Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and regulatory standards ·Resilience, empathy, and the ability to inspire and lead by example ·Full UK Driving License Benefits: ·Up to £6,720 in sleep-in payments (6-8 sleep-ins per month @ £70 each) ·Regular supervision and support ·Comprehensive training and continuous professional development ·Company pension scheme ·Employee wellbeing programmes ·Discount scheme and other staff perks ·Promotion opportunities within a growing care organisation Ready to Make a Difference?
