Job Description

We are looking to recruit an experienced Residential Children's Home Support Worker - it is essential that the candidate has previous direct experience of working in a residential children's home setting and has good direct work experience with vulnerable children and young people who have social, emotional and/or behavioural difficulties. It is essential that the candidate has Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People / Residential Care / Social Care or equivalent and holds a current enhanced DBS. The candidate will need to complete a varying shift pattern which includes 7 days per week on a 3 week rotating rota basis. The hours may vary per week. Shift patterns can be as follows ; Mon - Fri - 730am - 3pm / 230pm - 10pm / sleep in 11pm - 7am / waking night 930pm - 8am Weekends 745am - 10pm / sleep in 11pm - 730am / waking night 930pm - 8am The Role: > The Residential Worker role is based within a children's home in Liverpool. The children's home has been rated GOOD by Ofsted, and you will be working as part of a team to create a warm, nurturing environment where children and young people feel safe and cared for > The post holder will contribute to the day-to-day functioning of the home so that the children and young people's needs are met, including support around education, social development, health, and wellbeing > You will be motivated around developing positive relationships with children and young people to help them to understand and process their life experiences > As a Residential Worker, you will be required to help children and young people to understand their strengths and qualities and encourage them to have aspirations for their future > The post holder will be required to follow policies and procedures and work with partner agencies to safeguard children and young people
