RESTAURANT MANAGER - BUSY RETAIL OUTLET - WEST END SOUTHAMPTON - UP TO £45,000 STARTING SALARY

We’re currently supporting the recruitment of a Restaurant Manager for a popular, high-footfall restaurant located within a large, well-established retail outlet near Southampton.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially focused and people-driven manager to take ownership of a busy daytime-only restaurant. With a counter-service offer focused on quality breakfast and lunch options, the site trades 7 days a week between 9am and 5pm (reduced hours Sundays) and is a key part of the customer experience.
As Restaurant Manager, you’ll be responsible for the end-to-end operation of the restaurant, leading a team of 20+ and ensuring exceptional standards across food, service, and environment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading, developing and inspiring the front- and back-of-house teams
* Managing budgets, stock, and cost control to deliver profitable performance
* Overseeing food quality, safety, and presentation standards at all times
* Supporting recruitment, training, and ongoing development of team members
* Working closely with the wider site leadership team and contributing to strategic decisions
* Driving a culture of compliance, service, and continuous improvement
We’re looking for a confident and capable operator with a background in high-volume, branded or commercial food service environments.
You’ll ideally have:
* Experience managing teams of 20+ in a food-led business
* Experience in managing a business of circa £1.5m per annum
* Strong understanding of stock control, budgeting and cost management
* A clear, up-to-date knowledge of Health & Safety and food hygiene standards
* A passion for developing teams and creating great customer experiences
* A hands-on, commercially minded approach with the ability to lead from the front
