We’re now hiring a Systems Test Engineer to play a critical role in validating our hardware systems across both lab and real-world environments. If you're excited by RF, embedded systems, and solving tricky field problems hands-on – this could be the role for you.
The Role As a Systems Test Engineer, you’ll ensure CRFS’s advanced RF hardware and systems meet the highest standards for performance, reliability, and field readiness. You’ll work across the full validation lifecycle – from lab-based test planning and automation, to live field trials and root cause analysis.
Working within the Systems Engineering team, you’ll collaborate closely with Hardware, Software, and Production engineers to make sure our products are robust, reliable, and mission-ready.
What You’ll Do Hardware Testing & Validation
Develop and execute structured test plans for complex RF systems.
Perform functional, performance, and stress testing using scopes, logic analyzers, and automated tools.
Analyse test data, raise issues, and work across teams to drive resolution.Field Testing
Set up and execute real-world tests of CRFS hardware in demanding environments.
Capture and interpret RF and system performance data from deployments.
Collaborate with software and support teams to resolve anomalies seen in field trials.Documentation & Reporting
Produce detailed test logs, reports, and validation evidence.
Communicate findings clearly to engineering stakeholders.Cross-Team Collaboration
Work closely with hardware and embedded engineers to translate specs into testable requirements.
Assist in system-level integration and testing, including firmware/software edge cases.Continuous Improvement
Help evolve our testing methodologies, tooling, and test automation strategy.
Stay abreast of industry testing practices and apply them where valuable.About You
You have a BSc (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or similar.
You’ve tested complex electronic hardware before – in lab and/or field environments.
You’re hands-on with scopes, multimeters, diagnostic tools, and test rigs.
You can script or code – ideally in Python or C/C++ – for test automation.
You understand embedded systems and how hardware/software interact.
You’re thorough, detail-oriented, and methodical – but also able to adapt in the field.
You can write clear test reports and communicate issues with clarity.
You’re naturally curious and take ownership in improving how things are tested and validated.Bonus points if you’re familiar with RF, ISO/DEF-STAN standards, or have experience in defence or security-related environments.
