Job Description
Service Care Legal are working with a local authority in Bedfordshire who are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Officer with strong expertise in Right to Buy transactions to join their Legal Services team on a fixed-term basis.
ROLE: Right to Buy Legal Officer
LOCATION: Bedfordshire / Hybrid
RATE: £30ph LTD / £26.72ph PAYE inc. holiday pay / £23.84ph PAYE exc. holiday pay
CONTRACT: 3 months with possibility of extension, 36 hours per weel
Please note that this this would be a hybrid working position/
Key Responsibilities:
Manage high-volume Right to Buy caseloads, ensuring timely and compliant property transactions
Draft, review, and process legal documents related to property disposals and conveyancing
Investigate title issues, prepare reports, and advise on legal implications
Serve statutory notices and handle post-completion formalities
Liaise with councils, external solicitors, and stakeholders to facilitate case progression
Ensure adherence to relevant laws and policies, managing risks discreetly
Candidate Profile:
Proven experience handling Right to Buy schemes and residential conveyancing
Excellent knowledge of English land law and conveyancing procedures
Previous experience of working within a local authority would be highly advantageous
Effective communicator with keen attention to detail
Legal qualification such as a Law degree or Graduate Diploma in Law preferred
