We’re looking for a Risk Practitioner (entry level), to be based at our Capenhurst site. The Risk Practitioner ensures potential threats and opportunities are identified, assessed, and mitigated to help the project increase the chance of delivering within the agreed budget and timescales. When new projects are being initiated, the risk practitioner must understand the new project, and its organisational and governance structure and will help tailor the risk management process to ensure it is embedded and setup to succeed. The Risk Practitioner will support a number of projects to provide lifecycle risk management support from initial risk workshops through to full schedule risk modelling and support to maintaining and improving project risk registers.  Ensuring the provision of timely and accurate programme / project level risk and opportunities reporting to inform and influence business decisions. At Urenco we’re committed to giving you opportunities to be your best. If you feel you meet some, but not all of what we're looking for, please still apply. We believe in embracing the passion and potential of our people, and to achieve this we offer market leading training and development experiences. What you’ll do: The risk practitioner’s role can be dedicated to supporting a project team on one of our major projects or they may support the smaller ones where the risk management activities are facilitated by our project controllers, but the risk practitioner maintains oversight to ensure the process is working well and offers support and advice when required. When the project seeks approval and funding release at numerous points in the project lifecycle, the risk practitioner helps them understand the potential cost and duration of the project if the risks impact. This helps the projects to focus their attention on the most important risks and helps the decision makers in the business decide if this project is worth the investment. Provide guidance and technical leadership to multiple disciplines and report upon risk identification/mitigation progress and outcomes to Senior Leadership, ensuring adherence to strict deadlines. Responsible for the preparation of monthly risk documentation and resports, including maintenance of risk registers and mentoring of project management community to ensure adequate mitigation strategies are put in place. The process for estimating the impact of the risks on the project cost and schedule is called quantitative risk analysis and is a specialist skill that the risk practitioner will develop throughout their career; this requires close working with the project estimator and planner and project team. Be proactive and curious in approach to working, identifying and promote opportunities and make recommendations to Senior Leadership on opportunities to enhance profitability and improve efficiency to all levels of the business. What do you need to thrive in this role? This role is open to professional candidates who have developed a career in another profession, who are looking for a change of direction and a new challenge. Proactive problem solving nature and a curiosity to learn and develop and an ability to work flexibly within the demands of the project A strong awareness of the level of interaction required (dealing with various stakeholders internally and externally) within an overall project function to support the successful delivery of projects Excellent MS Office skills and well versed in the preparation of reports and information using packages such as Word, Excel Visio and PowerPoint Good attention to detail with good time management skills Some good existing knowledge of project based environments   What can you expect from us?
