What You'll Do

Lead mental health assessments on reception and during residents' time in custody
*
Provide tailored interventions using evidence-based tools
*
Act as a named nurse, managing a caseload and building therapeutic relationships
*
Work collaboratively with the wider healthcare and custodial teams
*
Guide and supervise junior staff, contributing to professional development
*
Take the lead in risk assessments (e.g., suicide, self-harm, vulnerability)
*
Maintain accurate, high-quality clinical records
*
Support the development of mental health awareness and resilience initiatives for both residents and staff
*
Administer medication and monitor mental health treatment in line with clinical policies
What We're Looking For
Essential:
✔ Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) – NMC registered, no restrictions
✔ Excellent communication and documentation skills
✔ Experience working independently and within multi-disciplinary teams
✔ Committed to trauma-informed, non-judgemental, and equitable care
✔ Supervisory or mentoring experience
✔ Able to work in a fast-paced environment with complex needs
✔ UK resident for past 5 years (required for security clearance)
✔ Eligible for Enhanced DBS and Counter Terrorism Check (CTC)
Desirable:
Experience in a secure or custodial environment
Substance misuse knowledge or dual diagnosis experience
Audit, quality improvement or service evaluation experience
Leadership or line management experience
Mentorship qualification
