Job Title: Road Sweeper – Construction Site (Canary Wharf)
* Location: Canary Wharf, London
* Pay Rate: £18.00 per hour (CIS)
* Contract Type: Temporary (Minimum 3 months)
* Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (8 hours paid daily)
Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for a reliable and experienced Road Sweeper to work on a busy construction site based in Canary Wharf, London. This is a full-time, site-based role offering a minimum of three months' work with the potential for extension. The ideal candidate will have a valid Category C1 driving licence and a proactive attitude towards maintaining site cleanliness and safety.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
* Operating a road sweeper vehicle to keep the construction site and surrounding areas clean and free of debris.
* Carrying out daily vehicle checks to ensure the sweeper is in safe working condition.
* Emptying debris and waste in designated areas in line with site regulations.
* Maintaining cleanliness of haul roads, site entrances/exits, and pedestrian walkways.
* Supporting site teams in upholding health and safety standards.
* Reporting any hazards, defects, or near misses to site management.
* Performing light labouring duties when the sweeper is not in use (as required).
Candidate Requirements:
* Category C1 Driving Licence – Essential
* CSCS Card – Preferred but not essential
* Previous experience operating a road sweeper on a construction site is advantageous
* A strong awareness of health and safety practices
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
* Physically fit and prepared to work in varying weather conditions
